Entensive recent upgrades

From the drafting board of naval architect Jean Barret, the Beneteau First 375 has a timeless elegance to her sleek lines and overall appearance. The First 375 was a highly successful design for Beneteau and struck the perfect balance between being a comfortable cruising yacht, and a capable offshore racing yacht with a good turn of speed and agility.

On the water, the 375 is a true sailor’s boat in every respect. The 375 tracks upwind very nicely and has a lovely balance on the helm. This is an easy design to single hand with all running rigging leading back to the cockpit and the primary winches and mainsheet in easy reach from the helm. Simply put, the 375 is a lot of fun to sail!

From a cruising perspective, Resolute is very well setup. On the bow is an oversized Muir windlass with 50m of 10mm chain and a 20kg Rocna anchor. There are davits on the transom that stow an Aquapro RIB with alloy floor. There is a new 2018 6hp 4 stroke Yamaha outboard that mounts securely out of the way on a bracket in the starboard cockpit locker. There is a custom-made stainless swim/boarding platform that makes getting into the dinghy a breeze. Mounted above are two solar panels and a wind generator that provide more than enough power to run the onboard systems. Resolute does not need to be plugged into shore power, the fridge is always left on and the beers are always ice cold.

The interior fitout is oozing with character and features an abundance of natural timber that gives Resolute a warm homely feeling. The saloon table has two large fold out leaves and will easily accommodate six adults for diner. Naturally there is a wine storage compartment in the middle of the table (a French boat wouldn’t be a French boat without one). The two settees both have lee cloth’s and make great sea berths while underway. There are numerous opening hatches to allow the sea breeze to blow through and a clear sliding sunroof baths the saloon in natural light.

The galley is one of the highlights of the 375’s design. The U-shaped galley has been thoughtfully designed and has very good bracing for cooking on either tack while underway. There is an excellent Smev three burner gas stove with oven and grill. The extra deep stainless steel sinks are not only practical, but also guarantee you will not get your feet wet washing up while underway. The saltwater foot pump saves a bucket load of water and there is a filter on the main tap for fresh drinking water. All of this combined with loads of storage makes for excellent galley.

Accommodation is well catered for with two private double cabins. The aft cabin has a huge double bed that extends under the cockpit floor past the centre line of the boat. There is ample storage and good airflow with a hatch that opens into the cockpit. The forward cabin features a plush new mattress comprising two different densities of foam and a memory foam topper. Air flow is excellent with a large opening hatch directly above the bed and there are good storage options on either side of the cabin.

Over the past few years Resolute has undergone a substantial refit including, replacing all standing rigging and half the running rigging 2020, new cutlass bearing 2020, new gas detector with certification, new wiring and a regulator for the solar panels, new regulator for the Rutland wind generator, new 12v Islotherm refrigeration with freezer compartment, new dual stainless steel galley sinks, new 240v inverter, new keel bolts, new cockpit cushions that convert into a day bed, new bimini canvas, new stainless steel swim/boarding platform, new mattress in the forward cabin, new upholstery on all of the beds, new windows and head lining in the main saloon, and the list of smaller items goes on and on. Resolute has been extremely well maintained and upgraded by her current owner.

The electronics have also undergone a major upgrade. On the helm is a new Raymarine hybrid touch screen chartplotter with Navionics AUS/NZ charts. A new Raymarine EV-200 autopilot with a P70 control head and a new HyProDrive hydraulic/electric linear actuator. A new Raymarine VHF radio with DSC. A new Vesper Marine AIS transponder. A new NMEA 2000 back bone was also installed with a seatalk NMEA 0183 converter for the wind, speed and depth instruments. With this setup all of the data, from all of the instruments, is transmitted over WiFi via the Vesper Marine AIS allowing you to use a laptop for navigation with complete integration of all onboard data.

‘Resolute’ is a very nice example of this highly successful design by Beneteau. She has been extremely well maintained and setup as a comfortable cruising yacht with an impressive inventory of modern electronics and cruising gear.

Yachts like Resolute are extremely hard to come by in the current market, so do not delay, pick up the phone and call Chris on 0428 444 727 to arrange an immediate inspection. This is a very reluctant sale for a very genuine reason.
