Sparkman & Stephens 39 ~ Port Coogee PEN available (Conditions apply)
From the legendary design team of Sparkman and Stephens, the S&S 39 is a highly regarded and capable Bluewater cruising yacht. The S&S 39 is a yacht for the true sailing purist, designed for those who prioritize performance and sailing qualities above all else.
There’s a very good reason why so many sailors have chosen S&S-designed yachts for circumnavigating the globe. These classically styled vessels have earned a legendary reputation for their outstanding seagoing capabilities. Just ask Jon Sanders, who recently completed his 11th circumnavigation aboard his trusted Sparkman & Stephens 39, Perie Banou II.
Crackling Rosie was professionally built by Prestige Yachts. Known for their superior craftsmanship, the fit-out and joinery are of a higher standard compared to many owner-finished S&S 39s, which can vary in quality depending on the owner’s skill and budget.
‘Cracklin Rosie’ has been extremely well set up and maintained as a bluewater cruising yacht.
The cockpit on Crackling Rosie is thoughtfully set up for offshore sailing, with oversized primary winches positioned within easy reach of the helm. This yacht also boasts some impressive non-standard features. The pushpit seats are a standout, providing a fantastic vantage point whether you’re under way or enjoying the scenery in a calm bay. The fold-down swim platform and ladder make boarding from the dinghy effortless and are perfect for taking a swim while at anchor. And of course, no true blue Aussie boat would be complete without a large, permanently mounted BBQ.
A lot of thought has gone into the interior layout, with several unique and practical features throughout. One standout is the dedicated storage compartment for crockery, a thoughtful touch that maximizes space and keeps everything organized.
The saloon has a comfortable and practical layout, suitable for relaxing both at anchor and underway. The table can be lowered, and with an infill cushion, it converts into a day bed or double berth for additional guests. The nice long settees on either side provide secure sea berths, an essential feature while underway on passages.
The large U-shaped galley provides ample bench space for meal preparation and a highly functional layout. It features a Rinnai 2-burner gas stove with an oven and grill, along with a DVK gas detector and a current gas certificate for added safety. A spacious top-loading fridge and a separate freezer offer plenty of cold storage, while a microwave oven completes the setup for ultimate convenience.
The master cabin is forward and features a cozy double bed. The aft cabin includes a starboard quarter berth and a generous storage area, perfect for stowing ropes, lines, sails, and all the essential gear you need for cruising.
Cracklin Rosie was repowered in 2007 with a new Volvo Penta D2-40 that has only done around 500 hours. Engine access is excellent.
Cracklin Rosie has a tall and powerful masthead rig with a comprehensive sail inventory. Due to a rigging failure, the mast was replaced in 2017. The mainsail is virtually new and has only been raised twice.
A good quality alloy Serano RIB and brand new (Never used) Suzuki 2.5hp four stroke outboard engine complete the cruising setup.
Cracklin Rosie comes complete with an extensive inventory of cruising gear and is being sold as a turn-key cruising yacht. The owners are retiring from sailing and leaving absolutely everything onboard. This includes a number of spare parts, stainless fittings, binocluars, a laptop computer running Maxsea nav software, fishing gear, kitchen equipment, vacuum cleaner, the list goes on and on and on… She is ready to provision and sail into the sunset tomorrow on the adventures of your dreams.
The current Pen at Port Coogee Marina is available to tranfer with the yacht.
