Resort 35 XL Custom ~ Very Economical Displacement Cruiser

Resort XL Custom ~ Displacement Cruiser
The Resort 35 is an extremely sea-worthy displacement passage maker with long-range capabilities. With excellent fuel economy and impressive sea-keeping abilities the Resort 35 is a highly sort after design.
The design of the Resort 35 is inspired by the rugged trawlers that were built to catch herring and cod in Europe’s notorious North Sea that stretches between Great Britain and the European mainland. These trawlers were designed with a lot of beam and internal volume to carry the catch, and many featured a rounded transom to combat breaking waves in a following sea. But most importantly, they had to extremely sea-worthy to tackle the extreme weather that the North Sea regularly dishes up.
All of these features are naturally very desirable in a long-range recreational cruising boat. The large internal volume in the Resort 35 provides generous size living spaces and a great deal of accommodation for a boat of this size. The displacement hull has a very comfortable motion in a seaway and is capable of staying out to sea when many other designs are heading for the safety of the nearest port. And with twin helm stations, the Resort 35 is truly an all-weather boat.
When you step onboard a resort 35 it is hard to imagine that the designer could have come up with a better use of space. The flow from bow to stern is effortless. The main saloon is spacious, and the helm station has been thoughtfully integrated in an unobtrusive way. The accommodation is abundant. The cockpit has permanent shade from the upper deck and provides easy access to the swim/boarding platform. The upper deck, one of the standout features, has a huge amount of deck space for entertaining and naturally provides a great vantage point for taking in the views.
‘Largo’ was built to survey and features a number of standard, and non-standard upgrades, that arguably make her one of the best Resort 35’s on the water in Australia! The interior has undergone a make-over with new improved head linings and upmarket leather upholstery in the main saloon. The standard of Largo’s interior fit out, finishes and woodwork are indeed of a higher quality than many of the other Resort 35’s on the market.
Largo has been very well setup to be self-sufficient with an impressive electrical installation. With 500W of solar panels and a 720 A/hour house battery bank you can live off the grid permanently without burning a drop of diesel in a smelly generator. The installation of cruising electronics is equally impressive and includes a Raymarine autopilot, chartplotter, AIS transceiver and digital sonar.
The galley is superb and features up-market Corian bench tops, a SMEV 4 burner gas stove/oven/grill and a Panasonic microwave. And with a stainless marine BBQ on the upper deck, you really do have everything necessary to cook up an absolute storm.
Accommodation exceeds all expectations for a 35′ boat. Starting aft, there is a private cabin with a generous size double bed. The private master cabin is just forward of this on the Port side and has been thoughtfully placed midships in the position of least motion. The V-birth features two bunk beds on either side and a ladder that provides quick and easy access to the foredeck. (While this maybe a practical feature, you can’t help but imagine the delight on the kids faces when they see this. )
Largo is powered with the optional larger 115hp Nanni diesel engine. With fuel consumption at a miserly 6-8 litres per hour, it is hard to come up with a reason not to go to Rottnest every weekend. The bow thruster makes the boat very manoeuvrable and is easily handled by a couple or single handed.
Largo is being offered to the market as a turn-key cruising boat and includes a BRIG RIB and 9.8hp Tohatsu outboard to round off the package.
Additional options include the purchase of the Pen at Fremantle Sailing Club (Conditions apply). A mooring at Mangles Bay by negotiation.
Displacement cruisers are very sought after and hard to find in any market, so don’t delay, pick up the phone and book a viewing before she is gone.
