The individual responsible
Chris Dobson ~ Yacht broker and manager.
What I believe makes me a great boat broker, is my extensive hands-on experience and deep passion for boating, combined with a strong understanding of the market. Having owned and sailed various types of yachts over the years, I bring practical knowledge of boat maintenance, systems, and what buyers truly value. My years of experience have honed my ability to assess a boat’s worth, market it effectively, and negotiate the best deal. I’m committed to providing personalized service, ensuring every detail is handled with care and professionalism, and most importantly, I genuinely care about helping clients achieve the best possible outcome when selling their boats.
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of owning several yachts. These yachts have varied greatly in size and design, ranging from a racing yacht to a classic double-ender, and even a centre cockpit cruising yacht. Through necessity and experience, I’ve gained a broad and comprehensive knowledge of boats, their maintenance, and the various systems onboard.
I grew up in Auckland, the City of Sails, where I first learned to sail as a young boy. I began racing in Optimist dinghies at Panmure Lagoon Sailing Club, and what started as a hobby quickly became an obsession. Now, after more than 40 years, I’m still passionate about being out on the water.
In 2009, I purchased a yacht in the British Virgin Islands and embarked on an extensive cruising adventure through the Caribbean. After transiting the Panama Canal, I sailed through the South Pacific and eventually made my way back home to Perth, Western Australia.
